Protein Productivity Screening

Selection of the best E.coli expression system/conditions

E.coli is often chosen as the preferred expression host, as it is usually a robust and cost-effective system. However, many protein targets are expressed poorly in E. coli or are synthesized as insoluble, inactive inclusion bodies. Our protein productivity screening service offers high-throughput screening of combinations of different expression vectors, expression strains and appropriate media using a 48-well based microfermenter system (BioLector) which monitors growth, disolved oxygen (DO), pH and fluorescence in every well. This protein productivity screen allows us to identify the best expression construct, strain and conditions to express and upscale production of your target.
