"No need to take the pipet in hand while relying on Trenzyme!"

Dr. Christiane Smerling, 3B Pharmaceuticals GmbH

"...I particularly appreciate Trenzyme's scientific competence and their proactive communication during our collaboration, and I certainly hope that we will continue this collaboration in the years to come..."

Reinhold Horlacher, PhD

Owner, Man. Dir., Dept. Head
Reinhold holds a PhD in biology from the University of Konstanz (1996).

more

After his postdoctoral research in Konstanz and Boston, he was supported by the"Young Innovators" grant from the federal state of Baden-Württemberg (1998 - 2000). During this period at the University of Konstanz, he developed and refined a method for the enzymatic in-vitro synthesis of the disaccharide trehalose. He then founded the company Trenzyme - the company name is still a reminiscence of this first activity. Reinhold is a scientific expert in molecular biology and microbiology and one of the managing directors of Trenzyme. Whenever time allows, he relaxes while painting, taking photos or doing woodwork. But first and foremost he enjoys the time with his wife and his two lovely children.

After establishing the mammalian cell culture service at Trenzyme as external consultant, Konstantin joined Trenzyme as a partner in 2009. He is an expert in mammalian cell line development and characterization. Konstantin developed the ExoIN and EndoOUT families of cell culture systems. Furthermore, under his supervision, the FreezeFect technology was developed at Trenzyme. Apart from general management tasks and heading the Trenzyme cell culture department, Konstantin mainly focuses on business development and strategic partnering. In his spare time, Konstantin can be found riding his motorbike.
